2K Play have just released New Carnival Games for the Wii console. This game is fun for the whole family, rated G and brings together all the games you are likely to find in sideshow alley of any show.
There are 300 prizes to win and you can play with up to four players. This game is compatible with Wii Motion Plus which allows for greater accuracy and more precision than ever before. Wii Motion Plus is definitely not a prerequisite to amazing fun for the whole family.
You get to choose and customise your character for a more personal gaming experience.
There are 5 game alleys and the Player’s Alley where you can view your prizes, achievements and personal best scores as well as edit your character.
New Carnival Games has over 30 games of chance and skill, most of which can be found at a live carnival. There are the usual games like bumper cars, unfortunately I haven’t played that one yet because it’s one you have to unlock.
In each alleyway there are 4-5 games of skill and one of them requires unlocking. One of the games will unlock it, to unlock you need to win all the prizes for that game ( I think that’s how it works, I’m stuck on the last prize in the one I was trying to unlock). There is also one game of chance that you pay to play, with the tickets you have won playing the other games. These games of chance will always give you a prize and the luck is in how good it is. Except in Mystic Court, your game of chance there is a visit to The Amazing Zamzeer who will impart wisdom upon you, for a price.
These games are simple enough that the whole family can play, Miss 7 was having a blast and very impressed with herself when she managed to beat mum. There was also one game that young Master not quite 2 played reasonably well and giggled his little head off the whole way through, I think he was just pleased to be able to play with the big kids for a change. Having said that though, it’s not all a walk in the park. Some of these games require focus and attention to detail to get anywhere.
There is the Haunted House where you race through in your coaster cart shooting at the scary things. Coin Toss, Shooting Hoops, Fishing and so many more that I remember from my trips to the show as a kid.
A great game to get the whole family together and play, with great graphics and amusing voice overs it’s sure to be a hit with adults and children alike.
